BRICS WOMEN’S BUSINESS ALLIANCE
The BRICS Women’s Business Alliance offers a platform to promote women’s economic participation and empowerment by unlocking business opportunities for women entrepreneurs in the five BRICS countries.
The Alliance’s objective is to increase the role and participation of women as drivers of economic growth and ensure the expansion of women’s business networks in and among the five BRICS countries through sharing successful business practices and best experience to promote the development of women entrepreneurship. It further aims to foster bilateral trade between the five BRICS countries through identifying projects of mutual benefits and unlocking opportunities for advancing business interests of women entrepreneurs in the respective countries.

The initiative of establishing the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance (WBA) was proposed at the First International Women’s Congress of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the BRICS member states on July 4, 2017. In the framework of the Russian BRICS Chairmanship, the Inaugural Meeting of the BRICS WBA took place on July 20, 2020.
The BRICS Women’s Business Alliance has 25 nominated members in total, comprising 5 nominees from each BRICS country.
